Jon and I have been classmates and colleagues since 2008. In both study groups and class project teams, Jon has always exhibited dedication to the task at hand and taken responsibility for getting it done. He's easy to work with, very personable and committed. Outside of class, Jon and I have served on the leadership boards of several organizations. Jon was fundamental in the creation of the Structural Engineers Association of Clemson University (SEACU). As the founding president, he coordinated with faculty sponsors, local and state chapters, student government and students to ensure the new student organization was recognized and eligible for funding. He continued to serve the Structural Engineers Association after graduation a the local level, as President of the Greenville,SC chapter. Jon Cox is a flexible, dedicated engineer with a wealth of technical and personal skills. He would make a great addition to any engineering team.

As a Lead Structural Engineer at AMEC Foster Wheeler, I lead teams of zero to ten engineers and designers tasked with the design of structural framing, foundations and equipment supports for projects in the Power and Process industries. Representative Projects: (Fall 2015 - Summer 2017) Co-Lead Structural Engineer/Lead Structural Engineer for Dominion Virginia Power Chesterfield Integrated Ash Handling Project (CHIAP) in Chesterfield, VA. I co-lead the Structural team with another engineer, eventually taking over as Lead Structural Engineer on the project. I lead the design effort for the Structural supports for the Bottom Ash conveying system (submerged flight conveyors, two surge tanks, pipe racks, multiple pump foundations, canopies, cable tray & associated conveying pipe supports), electrical buildings and foundations, multiple access platforms & served as checker for portions of the Fly Ash conveying system. (Summer 2016) Lead Structural Engineer for SC E&G Crusher House Upfit Project in Wateree, SC. Lead the Structural design efforts to retrofit an existing coal crusher building which had experienced extreme corrosion of the structural support framing. (Spring 2017) Lead Structural Engineer for Solvay Composite Materials Heat Exchanger Retrofit Project in Piedmont, SC Lead the Structural design efforts to retrofit an existing roof to support new plate and frame heat exchangers.
