Health Fair
-
Oct 2019 - Oct 2019
The health fair event purpose at Rutgers was to create awareness and provide health information. Students and faculty staff were able to go from one table to the next and get involved in activities about the station while receiving important information about the health-related topic they talked about. My role was specifically to raise awareness about breast cancer and inform individuals on the sign and symptoms of the disease and what assessment they can frequently do to look for any negative signs. •Increased the number of staff and students who are aware of breast cancer •Thought how to do self-assessment •Created activities that were engaging to enhance the learning environment on breast cancer

Rutgers Marine Biology Internship
-
Sep 2017 - Dec 2017
The Rutgers Marine Biology is a department under Rutgers University that focuses on marine life. During my internship time, I was able to work with graduate school students who were doing research for their doctorate degrees. This study focused on marine life in different areas globally. Their mission is to study how global warming and substances that are thrown in the ocean affect species living in it. My role was to help analyze the studies that were found and come up with a conclusion and solutions to the issues. I was provided with background information/data about the project, which aided me in coming up with a conclusion. I was exposed to different tools researchers use in this field, as well as technologies that are utilized in the study. •Gained new skills on how to analyze data •Increased knowledge about marine biology •Involved in hands-on lab activities
