A faculty member since 2008, I have taught all levels of sketch comedy writing along with Comedy TV Pilots, Improvisation, and Acting in Chicago, Hollywood, and online. One of the first Second City teachers to explore online teaching, I developed many online courses including Level 2 of the Sketch Writing program along with Teen Sketch 1 & 2, Satirical Sketch Comedy Writing 1 & 2, and Bootcamp: Fish out of Water. In Hollywood, I worked in tandem with the Associate Artistic Director to explore new ways to reinvigorate the waning Sketch Writing Program, creating three modular courses that broke from the standard level-based model and, instead, allowed students to take the courses in any order they chose. This model added value to the Sketch Writing Program not only in enrollments but by adding consistency in program offerings. Under a new Associate Artistic Director, the traditional level-based structure was restored and I was tasked with truncating the 6-level program used in the Chicago training center to 3-levels. In early 2020, I began private coaching through Satira as a Second City Expert. Show less

I was contracted through MILA Entertainment as Writer and Creator of two projects in development: Super Efffed (with Saskia Russell, based on her life) and Protein & Fats (a socio-political animated comedy). I served as Head Writer for both projects, assembling two diverse writers' rooms with former kick-ass students. While taking acting classes at Lesly Kahn & Co, Lesly invited me to lead some writing workshops with some of her advanced students. Later my long-time friend and colleague Lisa Linke and I had the pleasure of creating "Writing U," a writing and acting workshop where actors without TV or film credits could create several pieces that showcased their essence. Over the four-week class, students wrote, revised, and performed monologues and scenes - each filmed at the LK&Co studio. DTMM is a storytelling event where established TV & Film actors, comedians and up-and-comers tell stories they would never want their mothers to hear to packed houses of strangers. I work the crowd dressed as 'The Mother,' making them feel comfortable while slightly off-balanced with my probing questions and frisky quips. I relay front-of-house information while loosening the crowd up for our host and creator, Nikki Levy.
