A part time work experience position that I was able to partake in during my second year at university. I worked under direct supervision of solicitors, paralegals, and trainee solicitors who explained legal processes to me to ensure that I was able to grasp the type of work undertaken at a small legal business. My time was spent rotating between medical negligence, housing disrepair, personal injury, and data breach claims. All of which provided me with an insight into how lawyers liaise with clients and other legal professionals. I was assigned duties such as reviewing defendant disclosures, drafting letters of claim and reviewing clinical negligence records. As a result of this, I became familiar with software such as ProClaim and Rapid Claim Settlement claims portal. I was able to put my legal studies into practice in an academically stimulating environment wherein I could not only apply, but further my legal knowledge.
