Gifted Support Teacher

As a teacher, my primary focus was to increase engagement and improve outcomes for my students. This was achieved by implementing curriculum and lesson plans aligned with ISTE, National Science, PA Core, and National Computer Science Standards. I was also required to design Gifted Education plans (GIEP), as well as lessons on student readiness and STEM subjects. Achievements in this role include: ✔ Incorporating technology tools into the learning curriculum, including SeeSaw, Schoology, Google Classroom, Coding, and Open Education Resources. ✔ Establishing the first-ever Lego League Robotics Team, Destination Imagination, Science Olympiad, and Maker's Club. ✔ Serving on the LEAP Committee and leading the training for the bullying prevention program. ✔ Overseeing training sessions at ISTE and PETE&C on robotics, use of robots in the classroom, as well as problem and project-based lesson development. This was possibly one of my most challenging but rewarding positions, being in charge of designing K to 5th mathematics curriculum using open-education resources, as well as common core and NCTM standards. I coordinated a range of learning initiatives and coached a multitude of teachers in a variety of fields, including education, robotics, and block coding. Additionally, I received specialized training from learning designers, professional development specialists, and implementation specialists. Achievements in this role include: ✔ Improving student outcomes by consolidating benchmark assessments, CDT and PSSA Data. ✔ Delivering training presentations on Math Workshop Model, problem/project-based learning, and the use of various ed tech solutions for math.
