      As a QIMR Berghofer Vacation Research Experience Scholarship recipient, I had the pleasure of joining the Signal Transduction Laboratory led by Professor Kum Kum Khanna where I learnt the basic techniques of tissue culture (HeLa) and molecular biology such as DNA extraction, immunoprecipitation, and Western blotting.
