Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy where the client can use an expansive variety of materials to express themselves creatively rather than solely verbally. Art therapy is not just for those who are considered artistically skilled. Just as in verbal therapy where you are not expected to recite poetry, in art therapy you are not there to create fine art master pieces. Art therapy allows us to explore whats going on inside by bringing it outside. In doing so we our given the opportunity to process our emotions and experiences with the support of a trained and qualified art psychotherapist. My practice comes from a deep understanding and belief that every one of us deep in our core knows the way. As we grow to love, accept and give space to the parts of us we deem shameful, unlovable, uncomfortable the way becomes clearer. I trust in my client's truth and understanding of themselves, I know that it is them who can bring about change in their lives. I hold a supportive and loving environment so that they can explore their internal relationship with self through creative expression.
