Rebecca is one of the smartest and most focussed people I've ever worked with. She's cool under fire and is always looking for the bigger picture. As her manager Rebecca challenged me to look at things differently. One of these days I hope to to invest in a business Rebecca runs - or I will find a way of snaffling her back onto a team of mine.

Rebecca worked for us as an intern and was an incredibly valuable asset to our team whilst we were in our very early start up days. Rebecca thrived on day to day challenges and approached each task with attention to detail and a genuine willingness to help. Rebecca is an asset to any organisation and a great team player.

The Food Foundation is an independent charity with a mission to change food policy and business practice to ensure everyone can afford and access a healthy diet. Our vision is a sustainable food system which delivers health and well-being for all.I am the Project Lead for Peas Please - an initiative working to secure commitments from industry and government to drive up veg consumption in the UK. I also support and input into other related research and policy programmes at the Food Foundation tackling UK food system issues and dietary inequalities.

I worked with the SHEFS research consortium as first author on a systematic review exploring the use of food labelling interventions as a policy lever for the promotion of more sustainable and healthful diets. The review has been published in Sustainability.I also run a website, The A to V, which is all about making the official guidance around getting your daily intake of micronutrients (that’s vitamins and minerals to most of us) easy to understand, and easy to achieve. I believe evidence-based nutrition is the way forward. See www.theatov.com for more.

The Nutrition Society is the largest learned society for nutrition sciences in Europe, aiming to advance the scientific study of nutrition and its application to the maintenance of human and animal health via its five journals, six textbooks, and conferences.I was responsible for producing and creating scientific content for the Society’s communication channels, supporting the Society's Publications portfolio comprising journals and textbooks, and managing the implementation of the Scientific Communication and Social Media Strategy. I also managed the Society's parliamentary activities and affairs, working with parliamentarians, APPGs and other civil society organisations to support the promotion and advancement of evidence-based nutrition science.

As new business team leader I was responsible for our new business strategy, all of our processes around that, and managed our new business team. (We grew at 30% annually, so it was busy.) I also worked with the wider UK and US client teams, and our marketing function to grow our existing clients. Responsibilities included forecasting, reporting, managing the CRM system and marketing automation tools, and sales operations.

I managed three of our key global accounts (Unilever, UBS and PwC), and was responsible for over £1m of business. I worked with them to figure out what problems they could solve with more effective language, and how, before helping to make it happen.Pitching, proposal writing, and contract negotiations were all part of the job.
