This has been my second summer working for Hinton Pulp. This year I worked in the training department of HR and handled the on-boardings of the new employees. I would take them to each section of the onboarding, including their fit tests and audiograms. I also would get them set up on the computers so that they could complete all of their orientations and required trainings. I also occasionally got their payroll information set up for them. When there were no new hires, I would create training modules, PowerPoints, and complete any other data entry required. Show less

A full time summer job between my years of University. I was assigned to work in HR but I also did data entry and filing for OHS, Payroll, the Nurse, and minor help for accounting. For HR I helped organize information, reviewed resumes, did phone screening's with potential candidates, attended interviews, and made reference calls. I received a lot of great experience for the field of HR and helped me have a stronger understanding of each of it's aspects. A full time summer job between my years of University. I worked at this location for close to a year and left due to moving for university. It is a smaller organization so as a worker I felt that I had an impact on the business when I worked there. I worked with sales and customers, but also dealing with inventory, restocking, ordering products, doing minor repairs and cleanings, and shipping repairs away. It helped me handle a faster paced environment once it came to holidays such as Christmas where there were many people in the store at once. It also helped me improve my problem solving and people skills when it came to the unhappy customers that every person in customer service will have to deal with. Show less
