Provided early leadership for the organization on all levels (vision, marketing, communications, development, management, strategic initiatives, etc.). Started the organization from the ground up: formed a board, wrote bylaws, legal registration and government reporting, applied for and received tax-exempt status, solicited initial funding. Prepared a successful $500K funding proposal to UN OCHA to provide emergency assistance to Somali refugees in Yemen (for partner organization Vision Hope International). Vision Hope USA was formed in response to the Syrian refuge crisis, to provide aid and development assistance to the desperate and ever growing population of Syrians displaced within Syria and who have fled to neighboring countries due to the political conflict in Syria. VH USA's mission is to look despair in the face, refusing to give up until hope is restored in the most desperate communities. By embedding emergency and disaster relief in long-term integrated development programs, we empower people to recover from disaster and be better prepared for future emergencies, in addition to improving their ongoing standard of living. Vision Hope USA is an independent organization that works in coordination with an existing German non-profit organization, Vision Hope International, to carry out relief and development work in needy countries.
