This organization served as a home away from home for the students to have a safe and healthy environment to be challenged physically in sports, mentally in academics, and vocationally as I provided educational speakers, mentorship, and internships. I pursued and cultivated meaningful relationships with each student and their families, which often consisted of meetings in Spanish as well as English and the use of local resources to combat a number of obstacles the individuals might be facing. In addition, I planned and assisted in fundraising events, auctions, benefit-dinners, presentations, and more. I coordinated staff meetings, volunteer recruitment, and student field-trips as well as student scholarship opportunities and internships. This was an incredibly versatile position and I learned countless skills that I apply daily. Show less
