Senior Writer, Sun Woman, The Sun newspaper
-
Aug 2006 - Aug 2008
The role involved lots of travel - from visiting Kiribati, a remote archipelago of islands in the Pacific affected by climate change, to visiting Moscow to attend a 'school' for women trying to bag oligarchs. It also involved generating constant ideas, writing for the next day's newspaper and commissioning freelance writers. I interviewed Gordon Brown at 10 Downing Street in his short tenure as PM and I worked on many Sun Woman campaigns (against domestic abuse, for example) which had a big impact.
