I currently support students with their English language skills in the classroom by speaking, doing different activities, and assisting the teacher with various tasks. I help with strengthening the students oral and communication skills and help them feel more comfortable using English in day to day tasks.

As a SSW for Milwaukee Public Schools I served as a major support role in the school for the students. I was the liaison with Child Protective Services and other community organizations in the area. I would counsel individual and groups of students and complete risk assessments when necessary. I served as the Homeless Education Contact at my school and provided families with resources if needed. I was also in charge of the attendance systems at my school and followed up with students and families that needed additional support including home visits when called for.I lead SEL, Mindfulness, Child Abuse and Neglect, Suicide Prevention, and Trauma trainings for the staff at my school. I served on many teams at my school including PBIS, Learning Team, BIT behavior, Crisis Team, and School Health Team. I also served as a major role on the IEP team of some students and helped with parent interviews and administering the adaptive behavior assessment. Show less
