I undertook a 3 week placement with BBC Midlands Today, experiencing the TV newsroom, the BBC Online section and BBC Radio WM. Whilst working for the online section I had an article published on the BBC News website under the West Midlands section. I was responsible for researching and setting up stories as well as arranging locations for the satelite trucks to go to. I assisted on outside broacasts and experienced doing my own PTC (attached). I also gained experience in the gallery and on the studio floor when the 6:30pm Midlands Today programme was broacast.

•Following on from my work experience at the Scottish Referendum with ITV, I was called with 30 minutes notice to conduct an interview with pop star Dave Berry at his Sheffield house regarding rapist, Ched Evans. This was aired on the main ITV News at 6 and 10 o’clock as well as on their website. I produced the interview and questions myself and I then travelled to Bramall Lane to assist with further filming of a live broadcast of the reporter. •I believe this shows my commitment and dedication to the employers that I work for and that I am capable of working under pressure to tight deadlines.
