Leading of an art therapy group and providing and 1:1 support in complex needs women’s domestic abuse refuge. The refuge is a small residential unit that provides specialist treatment and care for individuals whose needs are deemed too high for the main refuges due to diverse mental health concerns including personality disorder, dual diagnoses, learning disability. I use psychoeducation and mentalisation based models. I provide reflective practise for staff members and enhance psychological thinking around the clients. I have extensive knowledge and experience in managing risk and safeguarding and use current research to raise my standards. I work closely with other services and provide clinical expertise reports when required.

Design and delivery of an art therapy service in a number of schools. I work with families and children. I work systemically. I am experienced in attachment focused therapy - training in Dyadic Parent Child Arts Psychotherapy (adoption and social-care). I recognise the impact of early relational trauma and am up to date with trauma informed therapy research. As schools are supporting vulnerable families, now more than ever, I have been providing highly specialist, individualised art-psychotherapy interventions for young people with wide ranging and complex presentations and serious mental health problems. I believe in early intervention and equipping families and staff with skills and knowledge - providing advice, psychoeducation and guidance to parents/carers and professionals. With a such a high demand for therapy in schools I have designed and delivered robust referral and assessment processes and alternative interventions. I have supported and guided other professionals in working with me to deliver groups and to support the emotional wellbeing of the school communities. Safeguarding and risk assessment are a large part of my role. I have developed polices and negotiate difficult situations that arise from time to time, by creating strong therapeutic alliances and working to communicate with and include families. I have strong links with social care services and know where to turn for support. I have experience in raising concerns when I felt adequate actions had not been taken while keeping relations positive.
