I am managing Shine professional Hair and Beauty salon; I have 10 staff within the salon at all different levels of both hair and beauty. Although I am managing the salon, I am also still running a column to around 70-80% capacity if possible, sometimes this is not possible as I am fully booked and need to complete all treatments and managers duties within my working hours. I am responsible for keeping the salon running smoothly from day to day, I complete all cashing up and make sure that the salon is clean tidy and presentable for our next working day. I am the go to person for the girls if they have any problems but I try to hold regular team meetings in order to keep everybody up to date with new fresh ideas and targets for the salon. Show less

Home Sales Representative- this role is a sales based role. I sale home insurance over the phone, this means I have great customer service skills and can deal with a wide range of people. I work for RBS but I also sales direct line, Churchill, privilege, prudential and a number of other brands. Within this role I am targeted and highly audited. I have always hit a large number of these targets and my audits are always 100% passes. From March 2012 I have been seconded to joining the retail network relationships teams, I was headhunted for this as I am very outgoing and professional in everything I do. I am good at recognising people strengths and weakness and helping them develop these skills. I went into a number of branches and help train the members of staff on Home insurance, different Sales techniques and face to face sales. I also held team meetings and arranged with each region a day a month in which I can conduct a mangers meeting updating them on my findings and support I have given. I received great feedback from these meetings and therefore built a good relationship with both my learners and the managers above them. From this I have developed my own skills in talking in front of a large number of higher authority team members and had a confidence boost from feedback received. I was asked to achieve 20% uplift in sales from each of the branches I have visited; I hit a majority of them. I do a lot of follow up work this involves talking to managers and regional mangers on a weekly bases and offering support to the branches that need it. I work on my own and arrange my diary on a weekly base. Show less

Whilst in training before we went on ship we were taught a number of skills such as, solution selling, retailing and we also got in-depth training in a specialist area of beauty. I got chosen out of 20 girls to represent La Therapy, this was a very specific brand and the treatment on board the ship was the most expensive treatment available. As I was seen as a senior member of staff on board the ship I often had to complete daily paperwork and administration jobs along with overcoming any “difficult situations” such as staff member’s ill or double bookings, this was then a test in communicating with my team and organising a plan in which I could solve these problems. I also had other duties such as completing client record files, health and safety within the Spa and weekly stock take Forms, These where all securely held and I was one of 2 that had a key to these files. Whilst on ship my duties were to organise and run my own column making sure I had a full back to back day of treatments, Making sure all my Spa girls where ok and also they had sorted the diary so were just as busy, completing all my daily duties included the paperwork and admin jobs along with retailing products to each client on board and providing them with a unique experience whilst in the spa.
