Marshmallow is a car insurance start-up, founded in 2017. My role at Marshmallow involved frontline customer communication with a high volume of incoming queries. Understanding the regularly changing underwriting guidelines was key to providing customers with a high level of service, and to making timely decisions with the best customer outcome possible. I managed customer accounts and data using various external platforms such as AWS, Excel and internal databases. I chose to have a compliance focus area. I implemented a ‘Vulnerable Customers’ policy, in line with the FCA guidelines. I also took on data protection responsibilities within Customer Operations team. This involved carrying out GDPR requests such as DSARs.
