We hired Reagan McCoy in the midst of a massive undertaking here at House of Moves: 250 deliverables, which (for Reagan's part) included building out 30 distinct and robust "real city" and "real landscape" environments.(Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New York, Everglades, etc.) In addition, we were while simultaneously augmenting /developing a brand new pipeline that included pushing all of the above from Maya through to the Unreal engine. The task at hand, compounded with the learning curve, compounded further by some pretty tight deadlines, proved daunting...even on the best of days. Because of the nature of the project,(did I mention we also needed to create a 3:30 minute piece for broadcast in 2 1/2 months) I through more different kinds of problems at Reagan than I have at any environment artist I have worked with in the 20 or so years I have been in the industry. To say that Reagan remained undaunted throughout, is more than an understatement. Not once did he blink. Moreover, he continually rose to any given task/problem, whether it be Maya, Unreal or Speed Tree, with stellar results. Simply put, Reagan was smart, quick on his feet and more important, he was dedicated to the task at hand. No matter the difficulty, no matter the technique needed (or learned) to make it work, he pulled it out time and again with some really great looking results. In the world of production, where expense must result in value on the screen, Reagan’s work and dedication was an unqualified success. Bottom-line is that Reagan created significant value for the project, and I would not hesitate to hire/work with him again.
