  • Conduct field-based research. • Operate independently with guidance from biologist, collect requested data from field. Thoroughly detail and communicate findings. • Primary responsibility was to monitor raven predation effects on the desert tortoise in developing regions across Washington County, Utah • Located and created GPS coordinates of raven and birds of prey nesting sites, tortoise burrows. Assisted in determining the effects of raven activity on endangered tortoise species • Create a cohesive and accurate scientific report with the collected data. Final report was used in Washington County’s Raven Monitoring studies for the year 2018 • Side projects for the reserve included relocation of desert tortoises back to the reserve, trail maintenance, tortoise burrow GPS marking/monitoring, visiting other avian nesting sites such as Red-tailed hawks, golden eagles, etc. Show less
