  As a Head of ITGTO I have been working on the on various development projects and cooperates with government and non-governmental organizations on EU projects and the harmonization of directives in the field of labelling textile and leather products; it also issues various publications for companies and consumers and much more. With coworkers we have helped our current programme become much more extensive, now including personal protective equipment, toys, textile floor coverings, etc. I have helped preparing several educational courses are carried out at seminars which were organized at our Department or in facilities belonging to the client.   I have started doing my PhD Thesis as a full-time young researcher in the field of textile technology, more specifically on the topic of skin protection with textile materials against the UV radiation. I have worked on “in vitro” and “in vivo” measurements of UV transmission and reflection properties of different textile materials (fabrics and knitwear) as well as performance of UPF factor depending on different standards. My study has also included a significant part of medical studies of skin and skin related diseases. Several articles presenting the topic of thesis have been published and can be found at bibliography link.I passed all my PhD exams in my first year of study and defended my doctoral dissertation in December 2005.   Together with coworkers we have conducted numerous testing and researches of textile and graphic materials, prepared several research-and- development projects, preparing studies and analysis with professional opinions. As a delegate of Slovenian ISO Technical Committee, I have been helping with the translation of several standards regarding children's products (e.g. clothing, toys, playground materials etc.). Together with colleagues prof. dr. Urška Stankovič Elesini, assist. prof. dr. Urška Vrabič Brodnjak and Breda Goršek we have prepared a regulation for "Cords and drawstrings on children's clothing - risks, legislation and guidelines". Show less
