I'm working at Ranqx as a Senior Business Analyst. Working from a vendors perspective is interesting and a nice change. The direct client contact is a good way to extend those relationship skills. Ranqx offers business lenders a digital loan origination, decisioning and monitoring platform. From a business analysis perspective, a variety of skills are needed. The areas of experience ranges from UX / UI, system integration, decision policy definition, API work, financial calculations, reporting and the standard BA skills. I decided to become an IT Business Analyst contractor in 2007. I have been an IT Business Analyst for 26 years, mainly working in three industries, banking (13 years, 6 years as a BA), telecommunications (8 years) and airlines (12 years - present day). I have vast amounts of online experience working at Xtra, Ferrit and Air New Zealand. I have proven to myself and too others that I can work in any industry as I have a solid set of BA skills. I've worked with all different methodologies, from Waterfall through to Agile. These days I work in the online space, that is desktops and mobile devices. I build strong relationships with the business, which has helped me deliver exactly what they want. My goal is to make the complex easy, so everyone on the team has a clear vision of what needs to be delivered. The most rewarding thing is delivering a solution that is used by the end user, something that has been refined and works efficiently and delivers features or functionality which is something that the business can be proud of. With my solid BA skills, people skills and team bonding skills, I know I can help the business meet their goals. I am now working in a new industry after having worked at Air New Zealand for nearly 13 years. I worked at Westpac Card Services for nearly 13 years in various roles from an Accounts Officer, to Customer Services, Merchant Services and then IT, most of the time was in Merchant Services and in IT. I have a good amount of knowledge related to the credit card industry and worked on some large projects while there, these included the introduction of CardPac then the migration of CardPac to VisionPlus but also worked on the Bank merger between Westpac and Trust Bank. My knowledge in this space helped me with future projects i.e. working as an eCommerce Business Analyst at Ferrit.co.nz. At Ferrit I was given the task of implementing the unique shopping cart and back office reconciliation processes for that site. I was also able to discuss and meet with like minded industry people during the Vendor selection process and then working with the chosen Vendor on the Ferrit solution. Show less
