The latest study done by the Department of Health and Human Services concluded that 70% of people over the age of 65 will need some long term care either at home or in community settings or in assisted living facilities or in nursing homes. Cost of care in this area is on average $4000 a month or around $50,000 a year. Medicare does not fund this. Medicaid does not fund this unless you have just about 0 (zero) assets.
