Worked with a production support team for internally developed systems, primarily Common Services Back Office Business Process Management (BOBPM) and Common Services Business Rules Management System (BRMS), also secondarily Request Fulfillment System (RFS) and Common Service Fallout Manager (FOM). Apart from Oracle backends, BOBPM & BRMS rely on an open source stack using Linux, Java, Cassandra, and Apache ZooKeeper. Internally developed tools on the server include application software written in Java, the GRID API and Caches framework, and the Local Resource Manager (LRM) command line interface. Remote deployment and configuration of code of rules and code is handled by IBM Decision Server and Decision Engine, Subversion, CFEngine, AFT Software Manager (SVM), and Global Resource Manager (GRM). Monitoring tools include Splunk, Nagios, and internally developed reports. Developed menu-driven script in Perl that used the LRM for starting, stopping, and bouncing of individual components, resource groups, and all managed resources of the BOBPM application. Developed web-forms written in PHP and Perl and automated reports written in Bash and Perl that queried the Oracle database repository for the most recent three months. Approver in the Midrange User Access Manager (MUAM) for the systems that run BOBPM, RFS, and FOM, approver for BOBPM change requests, sponsored 45 Mechanized IDs for the applications and related databases, and administrator for the configuration code repository for BOBPM. Debugging problems entailed reviewing Splunk and application logs and Oracle DB data, and participating in chat rooms and online conferencing with other team members, developers, and other production teams. Helped assure that new servers were properly configured for applications. Show less
