      Grow Pittsburgh's mission is to teach people how to grow food and to promote the benefits gardens bring to our neighborhoods.The Director of Community Projects manages the programs and staff of the Community Projects Department. The Community Projects Department programs include: starting new community gardens in low- and moderate-income communities in Allegheny County; supporting existing community gardens via the Community Garden Sustainability Fund; providing materials and tools to the public via the Garden Resource Center; hosting periodic public events (Seed Swap, Great Garden Giveaway), workshops (How To Start a Community Garden, skillshares), and networking events (The Community Garden Network); as well as supporting the Three Rivers Agricultural Land Initiative in partnership with the Allegheny Land Trust. The Director of Community Projects manages the Community Projects Department budget, ensures staff is accurately capturing data on our programs, and supports the Executive Director in applying for and reporting on grants to support these programs.
