Bio
Giovanna Ostacchini (she/her)
I first met Ray in the late 1990s when he was the Warehouse Manager for Apple Australia's shipping warehouse in Frenchs Forest. Later, when the shipment of products was centralised, Ray worked in the same team as I did - the web team for Apple Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. During Ray's time in the warehouse, he developed, programmed and implemented the shipping systems used from picking slips through to barcode readers. When he joined the web team, he went on to develop internal systems such as a project tracker, a tender/quote system; he also built external systems such as the Powerbook recall program. Ray also wrote various other systems to streamline the Applecare Department's manual processes. He has taught himself so many programming languages, his knowledge is amazing! He is more than happy to help others who may not be as experienced, showing them ways of adapting or improving their systems so that it is seamless with their existing processes. I would not hesitate to work with Ray again if an opportunity arose; he is one in a million and would be a treasured asset for any organisation!
