I have had the opportunity of working with Ravin for 8 years at Cornerstone OnDemand, reporting to him either directly or indirectly. During this time I witnessed the growth and transformation of a small team into a massive global division responsible for one of the key offerings at Cornerstone OnDemand - The Recruiting Suite. Ravin built this team out from scratch (he was the first engineer!), and is undoubtedly the person to be credited the most for its success. This is a team of talented engineers who are motivated and bring their best selves to work - mainly because they are empowered and encouraged to take challenges and risks. It is a dream team. This culture is no accident and came from the top. Ravin is truly an engineer at heart and passionate about tech. He was always involved in the high-level design of projects and provided extremely valuable insight - often asking the relevant questions that none of us thought of. Despite being far removed from code, it was impressive the extent of knowledge he had on the minutest of technical details, which was extremely useful for solving big picture problems that spanned teams. It's usually hard to find a leader that is well balanced in their technical and management abilities, but Ravin genuinely excels in both. His high levels of emotional intelligence, ability to read the room and people, listen, empathize, provide actionable advice, and truly inspire makes him an exceptional leader. He committed to the DEI cause in the company and took concrete actions to make the environment inclusive. Ravin is a person that leads by example, and I am fortunate to have been able to observe and learn from him.
