Worked as a product engineer intern that focused on improvements to gas-igniter electrodes and implementing a user interface for an automated electrode rod bender. Conducted various experiments on piezoelectric ceramic materials. The resultant data proved the tested products performed better than Channel Products’ competitors and was used in their marketing efforts. Improved designs for fixtures and tools that were used in production. Consulted with engineering clients to design spark-igniter solutions for specific applications and create technical drawings.

Customer Quality Improvement Intern

Worked as a product engineer intern in the customer quality improvement department that focused on solutions to product defects. Performed inspections on defective returns of a newly released faucet to determine the causes of failure. The compiled data was used to refine manufacturing processes and improve customer satisfaction. Carried out a root-cause analysis on broken cartridges and provided Bath Fitter with a detailed inspection report to help them identify problems with their installation process.

Worked as an industrial engineer intern that was given the task of determining production rates for wrapper sheets and housing sides of ventilation systems. Conducted a series of time studies to ultimately develop a macro program; that macro program provided Morrison with an algorithm that predicts production rates. My process has since been implemented across all their manufacturing plants as a new production-rate standard.
