The organization supports the quality, growth, and sustainability of the charter sector in order to provide all of Newark’s students with access to great schools in collaboration with district efforts to improve the quality of Newark public education. In my role as V.P. of Advocacy, I administered a $1.5 million grant portfolio. By introducing key performance indicators, I was able to measure and increase grantee performance and meet budget projections. Local education expenses were reduced by $5 million with the co-design of the residency verification process for the Newark Charter School sector. I worked with stakeholders to co-design a sustainable advocacy model.
