During my time served at BAMC (British Airways Maintenance Cardiff):I participated as part of a team consisting of Production Operatives, Junior mechanics, Mechanics, Technicians and Engineers. Every morning Engineers would participate in a meeting at the control room, where they would plan out work that needs to be carried out on the aircraft for the day ahead.Often, I would carry out work such as; Taking out floorboards/ceiling panels/sidewall panels in the freights, cleaning under them and having them reinstalled; Carrying out flight deck monthly cleaning checks; dressing the aircraft in order to get it back into service.I also had the opportunity to learn from my experienced engineers who have been in the industry for years, which encouraged me to pursue my goals of becoming an engineer even more ambition. All work carried out at BAMC is according to job cards assigned on the iPad in accordance with the AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manual). Show less

    • Wheel and Brake Technician
      • Jun 2022 - Oct 2022

During my time served at Honeywell Aerospace: I worked as part of a team of wheel technicians in which were managed by a 'Work Flow' specialist. Honeywell Aerospace is the top amongst only 4 other Wheels and Brakes manufacturers in the Aviation industry globally. Customers like Ryan Air, British Airways and FedEx are daily customers of Honeywell. My main job was to disassemble worn out/damaged tyres, feeding the wheels through a hot wash cleaning machine (Prosecco/Techno Wash), stamping the paperwork and passing the wheel onto the next stage (NDT). At busy times, other people on the line would disassemble and clean the wheels whilst I inspected the wheels and stamped the paperwork. I was also apart of other parts of the production line such as: Ordering parts off the SAP (Bolts, Grease Seals, and bearings), building wheels with new/rethreaded tyres, water checking for leaks and receiving wheels as they come in in lorry and recording them on receiving pads then checking if they're due for an overhaul/tyre change.
