I co-led a team of 21 to revitalize Particle as a literary and arts magazine that amplifies the voices of both emerging and established writers and artists within Southeast Asia, and cemented its role within the Malaysian literary community. My work earned me the Vice-Chancellor's Medal of 2021. • Cultivated talent by implementing a mentorship model in editorial management and providing opportunities for growth through workshops and talks. • Represented the magazine and negotiated with the School Board for a page on the university’s website to publish Particle’s issues exclusively, increasing the magazine’s reputation and reach, resulting in a 67% increase in submissions. • Proofread editorial content and supervised creative design and layout to set and maintain quality based on current editorial standards. • Managed the development of Particle’s website and an active blog featuring weekly posts from our editorial staff such as interviews and essays, resulting in a 72% increase in audience engagement. • Developed Particle’s social media presence by expanding to Twitter and Instagram, and implementing unique weekly content strategies to engage with our targeted audience of local young adults. • Reached out to published authors and local publishing houses such as Meraki Press and organized virtual events such as author readings, workshops and panel discussion to raise funds and awareness. Worked as a research assistant under the supervision of Professor Malachi Edwin Vethamani for bibliography of Malaysian works in English. I created a database of over 130 poetry works and over a 100 Malaysian poets. I condensed that research into a 22-page formatted bibliography to deliver on time.
