Leading the development of a Natural Gas Security framework to bring the City of Kitchener into compliance with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority's FS-238-18 code adoption document and the Canadian Standard Association's Z246.1-17 standard - Security management for petroleum and natural gas industry systems. Working with stakeholders across the corporation to ensure cross-departmental oversight and commitment to the security of the Kitchener Natural Gas Distribution System.Leading the assessment and reclassification of the entire Kitchener Utilities operational portfolio of work activities. Accomplishments so far have been the development of a comprehensive Operational Activity Matrix, categorizing all Kitchener Utilities operational tasks by activity type and asset class. Reviewing and revising all Cityworks work order templates, associated cost-centres and internal orders to support accurate budgeting and data analytics.Leading the redevelopment and systematic overhaul of Kitchener Utilities' training, testing and competency assessment programs. Accomplishments:- Mentoring and training staff and students.- Led the finalization of the Gas Distribution System Integrity Management Program- Led the implementation of Laserfiche as Kitchener Utilities' Electronic Document Management System (full migration of controlled documents, designed the organizational structure for controlled documents). Duties:- Maintaining the DWQMS (Water Quality Management System)- Maintaining the GDSIMP (Gas Quality Management System)- Recognizing and implementing program and process improvements.- Managing the entirety of the controlled engineering documents for the gas and water distribution systems. Documents include standard operating procedures, forms, operational plan documents.- Creating controlled engineering documents for the gas and water distribution systems.- Managing the community lead testing program.- Head internal auditor for water and gas.- Provision of training to engineering, front-line and management staff. Training includes Laserfiche, ArcReader, AutoCAD.- Water benchmarking.- Water and Gas distribution system statistical analysis, review and communication via top management review (data is typically presented to council).- Reviewing and approving watermain commissioning plans and samples.- Reviewing distribution system water quality samples.Current Activities/Special Projects:- Business lead for the implementation of automation and document approval functionality for Laserfiche. - Implementation of mobile/digital Water Valve Operating Program.- Enrolled in the City of Kitchener's Succession Planning Program.- An active member of the City of Kitchener's Employee Advisory Committee.
