Sergio Aguado Dívar
During my experience as Desk Coordinator for programmes in Sub Saharan Africa for Save the Children Spain, I had the opportunity to work with Raquel as his line manager from Spain. Raquel's role was a very challenging one: she was at the same time the coordinator of programmes funded by Save the Children Spain in Niger, and she also developed a very useful role within Save the Children in Niger program as education focal point and monitoring, evaluation and capacity building of the whole Save the Children programme in the country. Her contributions to the programme where absolutely outstanding: she was able to fundraise very substantial funding from Spanish donors to enhance Save the Children's work in the fields of health, nutrition, education and livelihoods, and her performance concerning donor compliance and reporting was remarkable. Additionally, her expertise in the education sector enabled her to make substantial inputs to the improvement of Save the Children program in Niger. She also participated in the cluster coordination on education during the 2012 emergency response during the food crisis. She also contributed to the improvement of program monitoring and evaluation through the elaboration of tailored and practical tools and data gathering procedures. Raquel is not only a very high level professional, able to cope with the most challenging conditions and changing contexts and to provide high quality working outputs on time: she is also a very committed person who embraces the mision and vision of Save the Children of a world where every child can have all his/her rights respected and are safe and loved. He very strong ethical commitment with this porpuse guides her professional performance. I feel Save the Children is very lucky to count with Raquel among its lines, and I definitely work with her again.
