From October 2013 to January 2019, I was a research consultant for Albuquerque-based reproductive justice organization Young Women United (now re-named Bold Futures). Between 2011-2015, I did research as a visiting scholar at the University of New Mexico with grants from the Latin American and Iberian Studies Institute, the Center for Southwest Research and the Robb Musical Trust. Between 2009-2015, I did numerous guest lectures as a scholar and artist at the University of New Mexico, University of Richmond, Rutgers University, Pomona College, and Duke University, among many other institutions. Between 2009-2015, I received various grants and residencies to complete and present my debut CD and to create new work as a singer-songwriter: East Harlem Arts Grant (2009), Manhattan Community Arts Fund (2010, 2013), the Young Roots Series (2011, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation's NY Cultural Innovation Grant), the National Association for Latino Arts and Cultures (2014), and the National Performance Network (2015)..
