Currently, I am responsible for conducting ground surveys along roads to support future road maintenance projects. Using Trimble units with FieldMaps, I record, map, and collect GPS data, meticulously documenting tools, milling features, and rock art found within the survey area. Additionally, I record all prehistoric and historic artifacts discovered during the surveys and perform shovel testing on all prehistoric sites. Before each survey, I thoroughly research the expected sites, ensuring we are well-prepared and informed. As part of the team effort, I write site reports under the supervision of our field director, which helps document and communicate our findings accurately and effectively. It's a rewarding role that allows me to contribute to important projects and cultural preservation efforts. Show less

As part of my role, I conducted ground surveys with a primary objective of identifying cultural materials, covering daily treks spanning 8 to 12 miles. Utilizing Trimble units for ArcGIS, I skillfully recorded, mapped, and collected GPS data, providing comprehensive documentation of significant findings, including lithic tools, milling features, and captivating rock art within the survey area. This experience allowed me to contribute to cultural preservation efforts while exploring and appreciating the Mojave Desert. Show less

During my time at the solar farm construction project, I successfully conducted Phase 1 shovel testing and supervised a dedicated crew at the Substation, operating under the guidance of field directors. I actively performed ground surveys to identify significant cultural materials and utilized Trimble units to record and map all ground-disturbing activities at the Substation. Additionally, I assumed the responsibility of monitoring construction crews during their ground-disturbing activities, ensuring a high level of safety under the extreme working conditions of the Mojave Desert.
