Bio
Julie Kang
Raphael is a very conscientious, generous and creative person, who I would recommend in many different work settings, because he puts 110% effort and care into everything that he does. We worked together as literacy instructors in a four-person team, and lived in Onigaming First Nations. So much of the experience of living and working in the community was enriched by having Raphael on the team. He was friendly and eager to get to know people in the community, and engaged wholeheartedly in community events, including the Onigaming Annual Pow-wow, in which he was invited to take part in the opening ceremony and drumming. This demonstrates how adaptable and open he is to learning with and engaging in other cultures and being a part of a cultural exchange. He was very trustworthy and thoughtful in a team environment, and always took responsibility and put a lot of care into lesson plans and engaging the children and youth in fun activities that promoted literacy. He brought a wealth of knowledge about the world and philosophy, and a love of art, into the classroom. He was a good mentor for students, as an avid learner and scholar, and caring person.

Doctoral researcher at the WCGE & WEIT (Global Ethics Institute Tübingen)
-
Oct 2017 - Present
The doctoral position is a collaboration within the theme of "ethics and responsible leadership in business" (ERL) between two german global ethics centers: the Wittenberg center for Global Ethics (WCGE) and the Global Ethics Institute Tübingen/Weltethos Institüt Tübingen (WEIT). The WCGE is a non-profit Think Tank offering training in ethics to current and future leaders so as to equip them with systematic schemes of analysis and decision-making which can be applied in everyday work situations. The center is independent and takes a global outlook with training based on a long-standing tradition of academic research. Specific formats offered include seminars, dialogue processes and research and teaching projects in cooperation with higher education institutions. The Weltethos-Institut is an intercultural dialogue platform at the University of Tübingen. Central to the Weltethos-Institute’s mandate is the promotion of globally responsible, prudent, and innovative business practices among international economic and political leaders. In its research and teaching, the Institute builds on the intercultural legacy of its founder, the theologian Hans Küng, with the goal of developing and promoting a common ‘world ethos’ for 21st-century globalized business and society.
