  The International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) is an annual international conference where former, present, and future government leaders and heads of industry meet and exchange ideas. The organisation was first launched in Manila, Philippines in September 2000. The objectives of the conference are to: 1) Promote collaboration between political parties from different countries in the area and with various ideologies; 2) To enhance mutual understanding and trust among Asian countries; 3) To promote Asia's regional cooperation through the unique role and channel of political parties; 4) To create an environment for sustained peace and shared prosperity in the region. Since its inception, the ICAPP has grown steadily in both membership and influence. By bringing together Asia’s political leaders in regular fraternal assemblies, the ICAPP has become a valuable platform for mutual understanding among peoples of Asian countries and beyond. As of May 2020, more than 352 political parties in 52 countries in the region with diverse political and ideological backgrounds participate in ICAPP activities.
