- Develop strong relationship and dialogue with Member States and other regional stakeholders for their ownership of project activities;- Support ECOWAS Member States to establish their national framework for climate services;- Support countries in developing their capacities on project development to access climate funds (GCF, Adaptation Fund, etc) with strong dialogue the National Designated Authorities (NDAs)/Focal points;- Facilitate the implementation of ECOWAS sub-regional strategic program on reduction of vulnerability and adaptation to climate change; - Facilitate the annual review meetings during the implementation period of the Project;- Contribute to the organization of sub-regional and national meetings and programs of ECOWAS, including meetings of the regional Steering Committee on climate change, drafting session reports to define an approach and a common position on initiatives on climate change issues;- Coordinate, at sub-regional level, the development of adaptation and mitigation measures as well as climate finance mobilization mechanisms; - Through the Director of Environment, work closely with the African Union advisor on climate change and other Regional Economic Communities, as part of the search for a common African position for the United Nations Conference of Parties on climate change with roadmaps and clearly defined milestones; - Work with other ECOWAS’ departments / directorates, institutions and agencies to ensure the inclusion of the climate issues, the database development and implementation of early relevant activities; - Prepare quarterly and annual activity reports, as well as monitoring and evaluation reports.
