My appointment as a coach in SSIS is an ultimate goal as an advocate for balanced education. When I am not teaching, I enjoy playing with my fellow volleyball enthusiasts. I am currently a member of the Shanghai International Volleyball Club (SHIVBC). My participation in weekly games with SHIVBC has given me opportunity to constantly develop my volleyball skills. SHIVBC has been actively competing in local leagues in Shanghai and Ningbo, China. In Feb 2010, I started coaching Grades 7 and 8 Volleyball Boy's team to compete in China International Schools Sports Association or CISSA. I coached CISSA boy's team for 4 consecutive years until 2013. I resumed coaching in 2016 to improve the grass root program of SSIS Boys Volleyball team. has been competing in C2 since 2011. The highest placement we achieved under my supervision was to play for the CUP tournament in 2011 and 2012.In addition, shortly after SSIS became a member of Shanghai International Schools Activities Conference (SISAC) in 2010. I also took the initiative to form the SSIS Boys Team - Division 2. The team consisted of players from Grades 9 to 12. The highest placement we have reached in SISAC is 3rd place from a pool of 8 teams in Division 1 Plate Tournament that took place in September 2016. My team has also competed in Association of China and Mongolia International Schools or ACAMIS in November 2016 and has finished second place in the tournament. As a coach, I aspire to foster both individual and team excellence allowing my young athletes to develop their passion for sports, develop a competitive volleyball skills and cultivate their inner confidence to reach their full potentials.
