  Worked my way from Assistant Planner to Planner I and finished my time with the County as a Planner II. Primarily work on development review and long-range planning within the County. Workload consistently included 10-20 subdivision applications for which I was responsible for guiding the applicant through from the initial pre-application conference through the approval of the final plat. I was also heavily involved in long-range planning for the County. When I started, the County was in the early stages of a countywide zoning project. When I left I was one of the leaders within our Department with the County’s effort to update and modernize the subdivision regulations. In addition to all of this valuable experience, I also was able to attend multiple conferences to further my professional planning skills and I was selected to present on the countywide zoning project at the Western Planner Rendezvous ’08 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.   Worked in the Community Development Department concentrating on planning and zoning projects for the City of Fond du Lac. While employed, I was able to gain valuable experience working with requests for variances, special use permits applications, and site plan reviews. I also worked independently on a special research project focus on house values in a part of town that some citizens in the local paper referred to as the “ghetto” of Fond du Lac. After researching the area and creating a report, I presented my findings to the board. As well as performing these tasks for the Community Development Department, I spent time working with the City Inspections Department performing site inspections and corresponded with violating residents.
