Veronica Budnikas
Once upon a time, I was an e-learning designer and developer creating learning experiences for my clients. While my projects were successful, I was looking for something to jazz things up, to add a bit of flair, a certain je ne c'est quoi—in short, to create more engagement. Little did I know the answer was encapsulated in one word: STORY. Rance’s Instructional Story Design workshop was out of this world good, as is his book of the same title. I now cannot even look at a piece of content without turning it into some kind of story for learning. Where I once saw bullet points, I now see dialogue. Where I once saw lists, I now see conflict. Where I once saw lack of context, I now see relatable characters with a desire to resolve conflict. Highly recommend Rance’s expertise to take your training to the next level of awesomeness!

His message on humanizing virtual training through storytelling was well-received, a perfect message for these digitally distributed times. The story-telling platform Rance created completely transformed training and communications for the Ethics & Compliance Department. Times Square Church is a vibrant congregation in the heart of New York City, with over 8,000 attendees. Rance supervised and trained a staff of over 200 volunteer instructors, who worked with 2,500 children from over 100 nations, five times a week. Also led all programs and projects for the ministry that involved the arts, from domestic and overseas outreaches to programs that offered personalized one-on-one instruction in music for inner-city children. Mentored leaders, wrote and directed full-scale plays and musicals, led overseas missions teams.
