I worked part-time as a member of the landscape architecture team and supported the urban design team as required. My tasks varied consistently, allowing me to gain experience in different types and scales of work, spanning from residential and institutional landscapes to public realm projects and master planning. I was in charge of the embassy’s visa division; this included answering enquiries, responding to emergency situations as well as issuing or refusing visas. This role required me to pay close attention to detail, work within strict time frames, and have an acute understanding of the policies and laws surrounding visas and travel to the European Union. I communicated and worked in both German and English and was required to engage with international visa applicants, diplomatic representatives from other nations and Austrian Government officials.
