Ramesh Purohit
I know Ramesh for more than 25 years professionally. we did a few combined cycle projects together in India. he had different roles for different projects as he grew in the organisation. Firstly his knowledge in civil works execution , one of the most risky area in a project and great management at site as site in-charge, what else a project director can expect. WE in project management could focus on our customer due to this great caliber support from Ramesh. Then as head of fields services when he was managing the entire site management aspect for the company, his promptness , supporting crisis which a project always has from time to time. What stood out for me was the overall focus on the company and serving the customer and not on the benefit of his function where he was P&L responsible. This approach allowed him to rise to senior portions as MD of a Standalone GE/Alstom company . I had the pleasure to work with Ramesh as his direct manager for 2.5 years during a global SAP ERP implementation at Alstom Power. Ramesh was responsible for the functional process design in the area of Sales & Project Management leading a team of business process and SAP experts. In this capacity Ramesh did a great job and successfully standardized and harmonized the business processes across multiple businesses e.g. Gas, Steam, Services, Hydro, fit them into a common ERP design, supported the deployment of those processes into multiple countries and last but not least had to ensure constant improvement of all the business processes within his functional domain.
