Rajesh Ganesan is a terrific colleague to work with: Smart, creative, helpful, and respectful to others. Rajesh is an expert in plasma physics, physical vapour deposition methods and thin films. He tested many plasma properties in HiPIMS and Arc coating systems and correlate the features of the plasma to properties of thin films in a very comprehensive and impressive way. It's too bad that he moved back to Australia, the other side of the planet. Nevertheless, we have frequent interaction, it's nice to stay in touch. Wish you the best! Regards, Rob Hermans.
Ainhoa Pardo Pérez
I worked with Rajesh Ganesan in EMPA Switzerland on experiments concerning Plasma diagnostics, using mass spectrometry to attain a broad-based understanding of a reactive and non-reactive HiPIMS Ar discharge on graphite targets at different coating parameters. Rajesh's enthusiastic commitment and in-depth knowledge all the while this project were vital for the successful and satisfactory collaboration. Based on this experience, I recommend Rajesh as very interactive and highly capable experimental physicist and PVD scientist.

My current work is focusing on plasma characterization and depostion process optimization in Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) techniques, specifically high-power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS). Design experiments, collect data, analyze and compile reports on moderately difficult PVD (HiPIMS and Cathodic Arc) process engineering experiments for coatings on tools and decorative applications, within safety guidelines Application inspired basic research of new materials, new process, and their combination to create unique surface/ material solutions using PVD (HiPIMS and Arc) for a wide range of tooling and component applications Developed new composites based on TiAlSi-N with improved microstructure and their combination for wear resistant and related functionalized low friction surfaces that outperforms the existing product portfolio Converting scientific ideas, process and application related challenges into project goals, and creating the best of the periodic table in its best microstructure in thin film form that eventually delivers best performance for a given application Troubleshoot moderately complex problems, perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues Measure film properties, organize data/reports for review and interpret data Generate internal documentation for products, presentations and technical reports Interact with customers to resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues/problems under general supervision Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation
