Worked as 'General Manager - Materials’ and led a professional, experienced and dynamic team responsible for complete Material Procurement , Logistics and Stores functions related to Yamunanagar & Ratangarh plants for execution of high value Projects related to (a) Process Equipment Division dealing in Pressure Vessels , Heat Exchangers , Boilers , Surface Condensers and allied equipment (b) Container Group dealing in Gas Containers and (c) ISGEC Titan JV dealing in Titanium, Tantalum and Zirconium equipment. These Divisions are catering to Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fertilizer, Nuclear, Power, Chemical and various other sectors. MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS :a) Started initiative to support Sales team in their estimation to increase their success rate in winning orders. Process Equipment Division has been able to win many high value orders based on back-up support given to Sales Team by Purchase Department. Purchase Team negotiates material pricing at bidding stage and final estimate is being prepared by Sales & Estimation teams based on hard negotiated pricing of major raw material. Back to Back agreement with suppliers before getting a Project also resulted in competitive pricing and strong relations with vendors. b) Consistent savings in raw material procurement, service orders and AMCs through strategic negotiationsc) Revival of business relationship with those vendors who are well known in their field but we were not doing business with them in the past due to (i) their higher pricing (ii) lack of initiative from Purchase and (iii) lack of relation building. It resulted in price competitiveness and better quality material procurement. d) Development of independent Team Leaders and teams within my department for serving various divisions to enhance leadership skills and performance of individuals.
