      • Jan 2004 - Jun 2012

Rafik founded "H7b1" in Switzerland on the vision that lawyers and risk managers in Switzerland and Europe would have to use the legal data technologies originated in the US, but would have to adapt both the technology and the practice to the European legal contexts. Together with his team, Rafik executed, managed and delivered technology support services for numerous high-profile projects across Europe, such as those related to corporate responses to DOJ/SEC enforcement actions, international arbitrations, export control, internal fraud and competition law investigations, either proactively or after dawn raids. Developed, and managed the development, of several innovative pieces of software, mainly to supplement the lack of data protection technology features provided by traditional US eDiscovery software. These include an original data protection technology assisted redaction tool. Created and delivered training modules on topics such as “eDiscovery technologies in Swiss/European contexts”. Managed an international team (Swiss, European and US professionals) able to work in environments where strong data protection requirements were involved (data privacy protection, legal professional privilege, etc...).
