I am working in the QA International team, in NYSE Euronext Technologies. I am in touch with financial products and with FIX protocol. My work consists in four main task: 1.- Develop an interface to work with two server applications which do automatic test. This is done with PHP5, HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery, using CodeIgniter 2 as framework. I have designed the MySQL database which will be used by the interface and one of the applications. 2.- Configuration application: update it to work with the created database, because now, it works with text files. The objective of this application is execute automated test in many environments and check the configuration status. With the interface(watch before), we could edit the configuration, test suite and all parameters with a secure interface. Technologies: Python 2.6, MySQL. 3.- Injecton application: add the possibility to read public market data messages and process them. Repair many bugs and improve the execution time. The objective of this application is execute manual test suites which work with a financial market to sending, receiving and comparing the result of the sent messages. Technologies: Python 2.6, MySQL. 4.- Participate in the design of a critical system architecture, giving my point of view and installing and configuring if it is necessary. Show less

I worked in a small team with a partner but working from home. No office was required. As intern we worked in two different task: 1.- Technical task: Migration of some specific modules from Drupal 5(PHP4) to Drupal 6(PHP5)(site http://www.concursosoftwarelibre.org now in Drupal 7, done by other people), installation, configuration and maintenance of Linux Debian 6 server(apache, mail server, back up). Deploy a new Drupal 6 site and adapt it to requirements(front-end primarily). To do all this work I used PHP5, HTML, CSS, Drupal(CMS) and also I learnt how to manage a Linux based server. 2.- Community manager and events organizer: As organiser of Concurso Universitario de Software Libre, I have been in touch with enterprises to agree terms to sponsor the event. Usually, I have sent e-mails to talk with many enterprises and I’m used to talk with clients, enterprises or to work in any situation which required communication skills. This event is organized once per year but it has many steps and it is a work during the complete year. Also, weekly, I organized technical conferences and lessons related with open source, free/open software and open technologies. In these conferences we invited enterprises and experts to talk about their technologies and to teach anyone who wanted to learn. In these lessons we had many technologies like: Drupal, Django, C++, PyGame, Android, Arduino, Server Administration(Linux Debian based systems) and many more. As community manager, my task was also promote these activities in social media and try to arrive to much people as I could. Show less
