Graduation thesis consisting of a CFD analysis of the wing of the AMT-600 GURI, a two-seater training aircraft, followed by wind-tunnel testing of a scaled model. A structural analysis of the wing spar of the aircraft was also conducted, resulting in a Fluid-Structure Interaction analysis of the aircraft wing. In collaboration with colleagues in a university project, we developed a monitoring system for aircraft radomes, in an effort to automate composite radome repair. This project involved a robot arm and camera system designed to scan the radome surface and visualize its paint layers. Detecting paint layers is essential for the surface sanding process in automated radome repair. In fulfillment of the Honours Programme coordinated by Ricardo PLC, this project's themes were sustainability, circular economy challenges and feasibility business solutions. Together with a team, I performed a research study on the current bottlenecks in increasing uptake of biofuels in aviation industry, with the ultimate goal of carbon neutrality. Ultimately, in a contest within the Honours Cohort, our team won the prize for the best project undertaken.
