At the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA),we are committed to fostering a fair and dynamic marketplace and enhancing the economic wellbeing of our communities. The Department is the only local freestanding Consumer Protection agency in the State and our resources and areas of assistance have significantly expanded since its establishment in 1975. Our work strives to improve the lives of all consumers, tenants, homeowners, immigrants, and workers. Today, we provide a diverse range of services to the residents of Los Angeles County, including investigating and assisting with consumer complaints, real estate fraud, identity theft, and elder financial abuse. DCBA strives to keep people housed and mitigate displacements through our rent stabilization and tenant protections programs and our foreclosure prevention services. DCBA works to expand access to justice and ensure residents understand their rights under the law, protect those rights, and obtain a fair outcome through our programs that include Small Claims Advisor, dispute resolution and mediation programs, immigration legal services, eviction prevention program, and through our Self-Help Legal Centers. DCBA also oversees the County’s cannabis regulatory framework and is committed to ensuring and equitable, sustainable, and safe marketplace. In addition, we drive initiatives that protect workers from exploitation and human trafficking and provide access to services for vulnerable communities including low to moderate income families, foster youth, and immigrant communities.

Director of Business Services & Strategic Partnerships

Los Angeles County Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services leads the County's workforce development programs and houses the LA County Workforce Development Board. LA County's Business Services and Strategic Partnerships Division through its County's America's Job Centers of California (AJCC) provide comprehensive Workforce Planning Services and Business Solutions. Leveraging the County's workforce development system and countywide private/public partnerships, we develop comprehensive business solutions that meet workforce needs, address talent and skills gap, and overall recruitment needs. Our no cost services include an assessment of the businesses’ life-cycle, talent management needs and growth opportunities. Our services incorporate our tool box of business solutions including training, subsidized employment, talent up-scaling and workforce planning.

Special Assitsant to the Director/Public Information Officer/ Legislative Liaison

As the Department Head's right hand act as a liaison with departmental management, the Board Offices, County Commissions, other County departments and public officials. Responsible for the development of departmental administrative policies for the Department Head and provides consultation in the development of new plans, systems, policies and strategic planning. Conducts legislative analyses and recommends changes in legislation. Serves as legislative liaison with the Chief Administrative Office; and, may represent the department on legislative issues in Sacramento. As the Department’s Public Information Officer serves as the centralized source of information for the public; develops informational materials, press releases, and responds to public inquires. Develops and is responsible for the Department’s communication and media strategy.
