  The project's name is “The Economics of Non-Renewable Natural Resource Depletion Externalities: Lessons from Groundwater Overdraft in North-Western Bangladesh” held under “Young Professional Research Grant”. This particular research will estimate the costs of groundwater depletion externalities primarily in the agricultural sector. Moreover, it will look diligently into the trend of chronological change in cropping pattern, crop production, irrigation water demand, agricultural production, and economic return from the harvest in the study area to scrutinize the underlying reasons and will propose policy recommendations to encourage sustainable use of groundwater. The research has taken an initiative to identify the most prominent indicators that are affected by Drought. The indicators are the part of the four pillars of food security namely: food availability, accessibility, utilization and stability. A review will be conducted on existing policy and regulations on food in Bangladesh.
