In June 2020, after a busy and demanding period during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, I was asked to head the engineering team. Considering the communication with relevant stakeholders a priority to help achieve targets in business growth, my activity is focused on active participation to the business roadmap sessions and reporting target achievements to the wider business.During my whole time at Watch Shop I can mention the following:- co-designed and built a multi-channel Order Processing & Management System integrated with multiple payment providers- designed and built a customer management system that allowed the customer service employees to respond quicker to any enquiry, decreasing the customer waiting time- designed and built the delivery options strategy giving the customers delivery time estimates in various stages of their journey, increasing websites conversion rate- co-designed a returns/refunds management system integrated with payment providers and multiple stock systems- co-designed a marketplace module to allow colleagues from relevant departments to easily manage various selling channels- designed and built a few local payment methods - loyalty points & cash vouchers- successfully implemented a loyalty points programme that for a period of 5 years continuously increased AOV and the number of returning customers- designed and built API integrations with different partners - payment providers, selling channels, delivery carriers- co-designed and built a multi-tenant Warehouse Management System with real-time stock updates, allowing the Operations Department to monitor and increase their productivity through KPI and a reward/penalty system- co-designed and built a multi-website E-commerce Platform with over 1.5 million daily page views- maintained and directly involved in the successful migration of the legacy systems- in both 2021 and 2022 the company has received the Ecommerce Retailer of the Year award presented by Watch Pro magazine Show less

In 2010 I took the challenge of managing the IT department at the Bucharest 1st District City Council. The main task was to use my entrepreneurial spirit to create an in-house support and development team, that can improve the overall organizational activity, allowing them to offer better and faster services towards citizens at lower cost for the public budget. Worth mentioning the following achievements during my tenure: - have built the IT department from scratch starting from just an empty office space – initially focused on desktop and network support serving around 500 employees, in 2012 a team of software engineers joined the department. During that time I have single handedly designed the new department's structure, recruited the relevant personnel and managed the teams. - designed and managed the build of a new centralized system for recording the birth/marriage/death for a population of 250,000 people, decreasing the citizens' waiting time from 7-10 working days to a maximum of 2 working days, while giving access to the council’s employees to relevant statistical data. - co-designed and managed the build of a multi-website Content Delivery Platform integrated with a custom system that would give the district’s citizens the opportunity to send most of their applications on-line, reducing the queues to the institution’s offices to less than half. - designed and successfully managed the migration of all the legacy systems data into new up-to-date secure systems. - successfully represented the Bucharest 1st District at the "e-Government Development Workshop", organized by Taiwan’s International Cooperation and Development Fund in Taipei.
